Stagecoach follows apprenticeship award success with its second top 100 recognition within a month

  • Second national recognition for apprenticeship scheme within a month
  • Highest ever number of apprentices currently employed by Stagecoach
  • Top 100 recognition from Rate my Apprenticeship – based on reviews by apprentices in different industries throughout the UK
  • Stagecoach recently also received top 100 recognition for Apprentice Employer of the year by Department for Education

Stagecoach, the UK’s largest bus and coach operator, has today (3 August 2022) announced further recognition for its apprenticeship scheme, being acknowledged by Rate my Apprenticeship, the UK's leading job resource for young people seeking apprenticeships.

Rate my Apprenticeship asks current apprentices to rate their experience of working for Stagecoach. The results are based on the 1000s of reviews submitted to Rate my Apprenticeship by young people who have completed an apprenticeship in the last year.

Apprentices were asked to answer ten questions about their role, the organisation and the social perks of their scheme, ranking the company out of ten for each question. This resulted in Stagecoach being named in the Top 100 list for Rate My Apprenticeship’s Best 100 Apprenticeship Employers table.

This follow the recent announcement where it was ranked as one of the country's top 100 apprenticeship employers by the Department for Education and leading the transport sector on the number of new starts.

Stagecoach currently has its highest ever number of apprentices with over 1,000 individuals across the country being trained in a variety of roles from driving and engineering to IT apprentice qualifications.

David Gawthorpe, Head of Resourcing, for Stagecoach said: “We are delighted to have received more recognition for our trailblazing apprenticeship programme. This is an exciting time to join Stagecoach and the variety, skills and social benefits these programmes give have been noticed and appreciated by both our current employees and also the Department for Education.

“Developing talent is something we take pride in, ensuring we have a strong pipeline of employees throughout our business who can go on to achieve great things here. We hope to see the number of our apprentices grow again next year, helping us achieve even more great things as a business and for the communities we serve.”
